Head Spa in Minnesota: A Five-Star Scalp & Spa Experience

If you're looking for a unique way to relax, reset, and give your scalp and hair some extra attention, a head spa is an experience worth trying. At Cloud Spa in Minneapolis, the head spa combines the best parts of a scalp treatment with the deeply relaxing experience of a spa service.

From the moment you settle into your private treatment room to the signature waterfall head bath, every part of the experience is designed to help you slow down while giving your scalp a thorough cleanse and refresh.

A head spa isn't simply a fancy hair wash—and it's not quite a traditional facial for your scalp, either. It's a restorative experience that brings together scalp cleansing, exfoliation, massage, hair and scalp treatments, and relaxation in one treatment.

What to Expect at Your Head Spa

Your head spa takes place in a quiet, private room where the goal is to make it easy to completely switch off for a little while.

You'll get remove your earrings and necklaces (or simply leave them at home), and settle in for your treatment. You'll be wrapped in a towel and covered with a heated, weighted blanket to keep you warm and comfortable throughout the experience.

From there, you'll be treated to a combination of relaxing combing, scratching, and scalp massage, along with scalp exfoliation and cleansing designed to leave your scalp feeling refreshed and balanced.

One of my favorite parts is the signature waterfall head bath, where warm water gently flows over your scalp for an incredibly soothing and restorative experience.

You'll also get to see your hair follicles up close before and after your treatment, giving you a fascinating look at your scalp that you don't normally get to see.

At the end of your appointment, your hair will be left damp so you can style it however you prefer for your hair type and texture. Drying stations with hair products are available in another room if you'd like to finish your hair before you leave.

Why Get a Head Spa

The short answer? Almost anyone can benefit from a little more attention to their scalp—and a little more time to relax.

You don't need to have a specific scalp problem or hair concern to enjoy a head spa. Some people book one simply because they want a unique and deeply relaxing experience. Others are interested in giving their scalp a more thorough cleanse or addressing things like buildup, excess oil, dryness, or scalp tension.

And, of course, there's the simple fact that it feels really good.

Your Scalp Deserves Some Attention, Too

We tend to think a lot about taking care of our hair—the shampoo, conditioner, masks, oils, styling products, and treatments we use on our lengths—but the scalp can easily become an afterthought.

Your scalp is the foundation from which your hair grows, and maintaining a healthy scalp environment is an important part of overall hair and scalp wellness. Like the rest of your skin, your scalp can accumulate oil, sweat, product residue, and dead skin cells. It can also become dry, irritated, or uncomfortable.

A head spa offers an opportunity to give your scalp some dedicated attention while also taking a break from the usual pace of your day.
